Say thank you!
It’s International Nurses’ Day today and as part of these global celebrations, UK nurses are urged to build links with local communities. In the East Midlands, Charlotte Overton was invited by one of her PhD studies case sites to be involved in their celebrations to mark the occasion.
A cross section of nurses gathered to celebrate the diversity of the nursing profession and Charlotte (representing CHILL) was there in the capacity of a nurse in research, a nurse as a full time PhD student sponsored by The Health Foundation, and a nurse belonging to Nottingham University Business School. This year’s theme is ‘Nurses: A force for change – Improving health systems’ resilience’. The International Council of Nurses (ICN) chose May 12th for International Nurses Day because it is Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
